Principal broker Ann Van Leer has over twenty-five years of conservation experience at the federal, state and local levels.

After established the Land Conservation Brokerage (LCB) in 2003, Van Leer immediately began assisting clients in initiating, managing and completing both large and small land conservation projects. LCB clients have included (partial list) the San Diego Foundation, the California Cultural Resources Preservation Alliance, the San Diego Conservation Resources Network, the San Diego River Conservancy, the San Diego State Field Stations program, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Save Our Heritage Organisation and the Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation.

Van Leer’s experience includes serving as the San Diego County Project Director for The Nature Conservancy, where she initiated and managed multi-million dollar conservation land transactions. In addition, she has over two decades of experience in public policy, including conservation policy, at the federal, state and local levels.

Van Leer served as chief of staff and land use and environmental policy advisor to a San Diego County supervisor and San Diego city councilmember. Van Leer also served the County of San Diego, where she managed special projects for the chief executive officer and a department director. Earlier in her career, Van Leer was a senior policy advisor and legislative director to a member of congress and a governor in Washington, D.C.

Van Leer is a real estate broker licensed in the State of California. A member of the San Diego Association of Realtors (SDAR), Van Leer serves on the SDAR Governmental Affairs Committee.

Van Leer has a master's degree in public administration and public policy from the London School of Economics and a bachelor's degree in environmental studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
