Projects > Buena Vista Lagoon and San Luis Rey TWO PROPERTIES PURCHASED AND PRESERVED! Represented buyer (Oceanside)

LCB helped the Buena Vista Audubon Society (BVAS) preserve two key properties in Oceanside. Representing BVAS, LCB helped BVAS secure the funds needed to purchase and preserve a long-sought property directly adjacent to the Buena Vista Lagoon. Escrow closed in January of 2016 on the 3-acre property which includes critical wetlands and wetlands buffering habitat. The price was $1,550,000. The lagoon is home to the Ridgeway Rail and other endangered and threatened species. The other property is north of the San Luis Rey River and provides a wildlife habitat buffer to adjacent protected lands along the river and at Whelan Lake. With LCB's help, BVAS secured a purchase agreement and grant funds to purchase the property. The second property closed escrow in July of 2017. The sales price was $1,560,000 for the 31-acre property adjacent to Camp Pendleton. LCB also helped BVAS secure an endowment to help protect the Whelan Lake property in perpetuity.
